Everything you need to know about the AME Course.

AME, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is an essential part of the aviation industry. No aircraft can take-off without obtaining, 'Certificate of Release to Service' issued by Aircraft maintenance Engineer. Indian Aerospace and Engineering, Navi Mumbai is one of the best AeronauticalEngineering Institute in Mumbai that offers the AME course. What makes it the best is its dedicated and experienced faculties, conductive educational environment, state of the art infrastructure, best DGCA Results, and Healthy employability. One can get into the college by scoring well on the entrance test, 'IAEEE- Indian Aerospace and Engineering Entrance Examination.' The purpose of the examination is to identify deserving candidates.

An aircraft engineer performs a series of check-ups on an airplane before approving the take-off for ensuring safety and also looks into the maintenance and manufacturing aircraft and/or its spare parts. To train you for this the course gives you in-depth knowledge of how the aircraft functions, its various parts, what is safe and what is not, and many other things. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course is 02 years, which is divided into four semesters of six months each, covering all the modules of respective category the entire course consists of basic knowledge training, basic knowledge examination, practical training, and practical assessment. Both the Theory and practical training are imparted in each semester and accordingly the semester exams are conducted for theory and practical.

All kinds of aircraft parts cannot be checked by similar license holders but the aircraft parts and its equipment of different natures are checked and released to service by the engineers holding that kind of license/authorization only. Which is why in the aircraft industry there are two types of license, B 1 and B 2. Initially a candidate can apply for only one certification and after completion of the first may apply for the second after fulfilling the eligibility criteria. IAE Mumbai is approved by DGCA to impart training in both the categories i.e. B 1 and B 2. Furthermore B 1 is categorized into different categories as per the type of the aircraft.

Mechanical (B1.1)

IAE- Navi Mumbai has an approval for intake of 60 students in this category. This stream of mechanical engineering is related to the Airframe and powerplant of all kinds of aircraft fitted with jet engines.

Avionics (B 2)

The study in Avionics Stream of AME field is related to the Electrical System, Instrument System, Radio & Navigation System of all kinds of aircraft in which B2 is related to the Heavy Aircraft Fitted with Jet Engine.

Helicopter (B 1.3)

The studies in Helicopter fitted with Jet Engine of AME field is related to the Helicopter Airframe Structure, Powerplant(Engine), Electrical System, Instrument System, Radio & Navigation System of all kind of aircraft in which B.1.3 is related to the Heavy Aircraft.

IAE Mumbai has set the responsibility of providing quality comparable to international standards and preparing students for the aviation industry making it the Best Aircraft Engineering Colleges in Mumbai.
